stayleanSo, many people say to me.. I have known you for years and Its unbelievable how you are able to stay so lean throughout the years.. what do you eat? So I figured I would give you my top five foods that have been staple in my diet for…. a LONG LONG time.

Just a note of caution… I know it sounds boring.. but honestly I do much better with structure and less options. Food is fuel and If you want your hard work to pay off your nutrition has to be on point … if not you’re that hamster on the wheel.. HA I wish they had an emoji for that one.

1. Oatmeal.
I like old-fashioned oatmeal. It’s quick, easy, and nutritious. Fill it with nuts, berries, almond butter, and 1 scoop of whey protein. And boom, you have a nutritious breakfast.
2.  Chicken or egg whites.
A great source of protein with limited fat….tastes great and so many ways to cook

3. Sweet Potato.  It’s the perfect food. Think of it as a “positive-energy bomb” and fat-melting food. It’s the perfect mix of low-glycemic carbs (think sustainable energy) and quality-protein. Throw it in the oven for 45 minutes, put a touch of honey on it, and you have the “perfect food” for sustainable, healthy energy.
4. Salad. Greens. Greens. Greens. And then put  chicken, or fish or steak on it.  I am allergic to fish but salmon is  awesome too… think omega 3’s… brain food.  Load it up with as many vegetables as your heart desires. And eat at least one salad a day. Warning: Be careful not to overdo it with salad dressing. Balsamic vinegar and a dash of olive oil is healthiest.
5.  A shake. I  do about one or two of these a day.. Shakeology in the mid afternoon and Casein protein before I go to bed .I use Non-sweetened almond milk with , 1⁄2 banana, and a TBSP of almond butter. You can get a bag for yourself and give it a try here.

There you have it Ladies… my Diet in an Nutshell.. Too bad I can’t eat fish because I definitely need some brain food. 🙂
