I’ve never been good at asking for help, but asking for help after surviving probably the most harrowing year of a seemingly endless cycle of bad luck was one of the best decisions I ever made. When I called Yvette to begin the long road to physical, mental, and emotional recovery, I had no idea I would be gaining a team of cheerleaders to support me through my journey.
My first session with LaVerne, who welcomed me with open arms and a hug, showed me that I made the right choice in trusting this amazing group of women to help me succeed. My journey has been tumultuous, and I still have a long way to go, but everyone at YSF, especially LaVerne and Sandy, never let me forget that I’m not in this fight alone, and that support is just a text or phone call away. LaVerne sent me a text this morning saying, “No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow your progress, you are still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying”; as slow as my progress has been – at times it seems a tortoise could progress quicker
than I have – I know I’m stronger now than I have ever been before, and seeing how far I’ve come encourages me to stay in the fight for overall fitness. Thank you to these wonderful women for pushing me farther than I ever thought I could go, and for never letting me give up on my goal!
